The process is simple and straightforward. Specifically:
Phone call to discuss your project – perhaps 30 minutes long
Assuming all parties agree, arrange for a face to face meeting
If the project is a mixing or mastering project, send us your rough mix, or your final mix product to review. AES will provide a drop box address for your files, or will take a CD or thumb drive instead.
The client is encouraged to download the interview form from the contact page prior to the physical interview, and answer as many questions as possible prior to the meeting. Go to the contacts page, fill in the email request form, and AES will send you the form by email
Define the end result of the project – mix output only, or master services – definition of target use is needed to prepare the proper formats for the client and to determine project costs
Assuming the client wishes to proceed, AES will provide the required contract documentation to define the project scope, timeframe, and cost. The client would then execute the contract, return it to AES, and the project is underway! It is expected that the client will pay 50% of project cost at time of contract signing.
Depending on the nature of the project, AES will deliver up to three mix revisions to the client for their review, critique, and final approval. Should additional changes be required, AES and the client can discuss this at the appropriate time and decide the path forward together. For mastering projects, AES will provide mastered files for one or more service; (a) CD Masters, (b) Radio Ready format, (c) Vinyl Format, (d) Streaming services as agreed to in the contract.
Upon approval, AES will provide the finished mix/masters upon receipt of the final 50% of project cost.
